The Steamiest Movie Moments (just in time for TIFF)
Get your cameras ready – stars are taking over Toronto. TIFF is here and with it comes the waves of beautiful people here to support some of the best films made this year. We love to celebrate the arts. TIFF is the perfect time to get dressed up, watch an amazing film and maybe rub elbows with someone famous.
In honor of TIFF, we have created our own must-watch list. Pure Pleasure Spa has searched for the very best kisses and sensual scenes. Put on some popcorn and settle in with these great films.
(Caution: things might get a bit steamy.)
Pretty Woman, 1990
Richard Gere & Julia Roberts
This movie is the perfect Cinderella story – with a dash of something naughty. Julia Roberts is the “hooker with a heart of gold” while Richard Gere is a millionaire with cash to spend but no time for romance.
She has only one rule: no kissing on the lips.
Between the thigh high leather boots and the scene where Richard Gere takes her on the piano, this movie is definitely on the list.
The Notebook, 2004
Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams
These Canadian cuties were meant for each other. Noah and Allie’s love is the stuff of dreams. The only thing we could add to it is a little rain. Who hasn’t daydreamed about Ryan Gosling telling you “It’s still not over.” That kiss made people all over the world weak in the knees and we are right there with them.
Gone with the Wind, 1939
Clark Gable & Vivian Leigh
This classic film tells the story of the heart-wrenching love between Rhett Butler and Scarlett O’Hara. These star-crossed lovers have so much tension between them; you’re almost begging him to just grab her.
When Clark Gables finally takes Scarlett into his arms and says : You need kissing badly. That’s what’s wrong with you. You should be kissed, and often, and by someone who knows how.”
That’s all we need.
Top Gun, 1986
Tom Cruise & Kelly McGillis
If there is once scene that can Take My Breath Away its when Maverick and Charlie finally kiss. This movie is full of tension and passion from beginning to end. The soundtrack is pretty sexy too.
Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, 1980
Harrison Ford & Carrie Fisher
The back-and-forth “will they or won’t they” drama is almost too much to handle. When Han Solo finally leans in and kisses Princess Leia, our hearts start pounding and our palms get sweaty. Sometimes you just need to here those words:
“I love you.”
Shakespeare in Love, 1999
Joseph Fiennes & Gwyneth Paltrow
This Oscar-winning rom-com has stolen our hearts. No one but the creator of the best love stories of all time could have such an epic romance. When the bard and his muse come together, our hearts cried out. The scene is almost too perfect when Lady Viola declares: “I would not have thought it – there is something better than a play!”
Yeah, there’s something better.
And Finally . . .
Tobey Maguire & Kristen Dunst
No list would be complete without the iconic upside-down in-the-rain kiss between Spiderman and Mary Jane. No one can say that they haven’t at least tried to recreate this scene on their own. Somehow no one can do it quite like them.
